hi all, building mk blade and i cant get it started.its a 98rrw.i know engine is good as when first bought i had it running on a bench reving up lovely.but now i have put it in the mk i cant get it started.it popped and banged tried to fire up but then nothing.i have a spark and i have fuel.stripped carbs and all seems ok anyone got any ideas?help?
check the timing, the sparks only useful if there at the right cylinder at the right time!

yea see what your saying but engine was running fine and i have not altered the timing in any way?
triple check all electrical connections, and make sure you have a good main earth.also is there a tilt switch?
havnt checked all connections yet but surely if i have a spark i have a spark?also i take it if it had a tilt switch and it was active it would just cut the spark?
Try a new set of plugs.
Phil
agree with phil new plugs ive had same sort of trouble
are you using the blade pump ??
Try swapping coil wiring, you may be sending spark to wrong cylinder

not using pump as rrw didnt have one.using pump off cbr 600 i think.bought off ebay and as i say was running absolutly fine with all ancilleries.engine has been standing for about 7 months.would the plugs really go down just like that?only other thing i have done is put new clutch springs in.
is there an easy way of checking the timing?have tried swopping coil wiring every way i can think of but still no joy.
Plugs are very temperamental in the Blade. Stick some new ones in........
