I would have thought the one off a Polo would be your first option - its ne heavier than any other make - and would fit your rad

is a sucking fan behind the rad better than a blowing one in front?

Always wondered!

The Polo one weighs a ton!! It uses a huge pressed steel couling! Mines just gone in the wheelie bin!

I've used the Polo rad and fitted a Fiat Uno fan behind it. Its small and uses a plastic couling.

I used a small Kenlow style unit, 9-10". Cheap and light and seems well up to the job. Premier Wiring £40 ish.

FWIW, mines a corolla rad, dont think it will fit a standard con though, but was £3 including the fan!
