Hi, I plan to build an R1 engined MNR Vortx. I plan to use a 2005-2006 engine and I am currently looking at scrapyards for a diff.
I understand I would need a 3.38 version, that would suit the engine best.
I found one for 25 GBP (in Hungary, where I live), can someone confirm based on the casting number that this is what I need?
This is the code on the diff:
83BG4006 LC 4A 338 3F15
The guy also says he has another diff that is slightly shorter in size. Is this possible? If there are two sizes, what size diff do I need?
Apparently the diffs are from 2.0 Sierras...
Thanks!
Gergely
Thanks Chris, how about the diff sizes this guy mentioned? Should I be worried? Or should I just buy the diff?
What should I look out for? Do these things wear out or anything?
Thanks!
Gergely
thE LC 338 HAS PUSH IN SHAFTS ,
DIFFS WITH AC 338 ARE BOLT ON
BOTH 7INS
Thanks jacko!
Which one should I go for? Push-in or bolt-on?
Thanks!
£25 sounds like a steal to me - don't they go for £100+ in the UK?
If you're concerned over size, could you buy both and then sell the one you don't use?
AS Nick says ^^^^^^ buy both sell one
You have a u2u

Hi gergly,
I would buy both and Part-exchange one ( or as many as you can get ) with MNR.
If you are buying them at £25 GBP I would think Chris@mnr would posibly offer you double that ( Check first though ) as 3.38 suit most R1 situations
and are getting thin on the ground over here .
