Do you definately need a catch tank? A lot of people just put breather filters on. A catch tank is required for track action though to avoid oil being laid all over the track....

I had a wd40 can to start with but now i have a oil spray gun canister that is modified
dont forget to remove the one way valvewhen fitting a catch tank

I was thinking about one of those monkey bike ones but thought it may be too small so I bought one of the larger CNC aluminium ones for about £20 on ebay. Works well at catching the oil, but when it cools down inside the tube and the tank it turns to mushroom soup, probably because of this damp weather! My larger one has never got anywhere near full so one of the smaller ones would have probably been ok.

I do not know, i read some threads about it, and throught i may need one as i am converting to bike carbs.

Was i wrong?

As well on the monkey bike one what do all the outlets do?

This is mine.

Made out of a Halfrauds cyclist's water bottle. I did a bit of fancy stuff on my lathe, but a bit of plastic hose stuffed in the top would probably work almost as well.

i have not got acess to a lathe.

But that would look nice under the bonnet.

If you look at its plastic top, it would be very easy to stuff a hose in neatly...

dont forget if on track the bottle or tank must be 1 litre capacity

That may be more of a race reg. Teesside have never checked mine, but maybe thats just them.

Ali drinks bottle tend to be the better locost option. My tank is open topped - doesnt fill enough to be concerning at all (now that i have correct oil level )
