Hi

Does anyine know if the temp sensor on the inlet side of a blacktop head is for the temp guage or for the fuel injection?

Thanks

errrr dont think there is one, i think on the inlet side there is a cam sensor at the back of the head and another sensor at the front below the inlet, i think that might be a knock sensor but not sure but i am fairly sure its not a temp sensor

temp sensors are on the black plastic thermostat housing

Thanks

It looks like a temp sensor and appears to go into a waterway just below the inlet port for No1 cylinder.

There are no sensors or holes for one on the thermostat housing.

The engine if from a Focus BTW.

the one you are describing is i think the knock sensor, it has a wire coming from it held on by a clip? if you take it out i think you will find that the hole its in is blank, on racelines advice i left it in just to fill the hole but cut the wire off. Ther definately should be a space on the plastic thermostat housing at the rear of the head for a temp sensor. btw ours is also a focus blacktop

The sensor, whatever it is is about 75mm long, with 2 wires coming from it to a 2 pin connector.

I've just looked at the thermostat housing again, and definately only 4 pipe connections to it.

There are a couple of places where a sender could be but the moulding is blanked off.

Loos like I might need to get an in line sensor.
