Hi folks,
I am going to replace my electronic dizzy with a mechanical one and am trying to remove it. I took the plate seal to the side of it with the two 13mm
bolts off and tried pulling but no such luck. This plate didnt seem to do much anyway and so it would be great if someone could advise me on the steps
I need to take to remove it?
Thanks,
Matt
plate seal?you mean fuel pump blanking plate?dizzy has 1 bolt holding the clamp down
it will be hiding round the back half of the dizzy
Used a bigger hammer, all is good!
Cheers
its the o-ring and the helical cut gear, get a rubber hammer or a bit of wood and thump it under the housing while wiggling the rotor, it'll come
out (I think you said you'd removed the clamp). If it's still not moving hit it harder

yeah should be one 13mm bolt behind the dizzy where it meets the block. Remove this and the clamp and it should slide right out.
Might be worth marking the position of the rotor arm first though, would help lots with ignition timing when reassembling.
when i removed my dizzy, it helped to wiggle the aux shaft pulley a bit. that freed the dizzy.
bear in mid you cant run your engine without the dizzy, as the shaft is shared with the oil pump, so you will need at least the dizzy shaft to operate
the oil pump...
