I appear to have mislaid the three torx screws that keep the gear lever in place.
Anyone know the length and strength of these. I know they're M8 and I know that 20mm is a tad to long.
I could probably get away with standard M8 x15mm bolts if I knew what tensile strength to aim for.
Thanks
The originals were probably 12.9 but i would have thought regular 8.8 high tensile set screws would do the job.
There is a chance i might have a spare set of three,i'll check the garage in the morning
They screw into the aluminium extension don't they? I think 12.9 would be slightly over engineering the fixings!
Just had a look and only found ONE,dimensions are M8 as we know and thread is 15mm in length.

Yeah 12.9 is a bit excesive, but arnt dome head high tensile bolts all 12.9 strength.
My box and gear extension has regular 8.8's.

I think that maybe we are all being maybe a little over cautious...
This is hardly a stressed critical member (unlike suspension bolts etc.) so IMHO ... who cares - any old bolts that fit!
I'm sure I can find three in the garage. u2u me your address and I'll post them over.

I visited my local stockist today and got 3 off M8x16mm domed head screws in 12.9 strength for next to nothing.
thanks to everyone for the input. I agree that 12.9 is probably overkill but in the domed version this is all they had so I'm happy.
Nearly there :-)
