BEC cable clutch questions
tegwin - 6/5/08 at 04:16 PM

What cables are most people using for their clutch?

Would a normal throttle type cable be to thin?

Does anyone know of hand how much travel is required for a zx9R mechanical clutch?

I think I used a MK 3 Cortina one.

There's a 'polo' on the end which you can modify (cut it in half) to fit within a clevis pin.

Just use a bolt with a hole drilled through or a solderless nipple on the clutch actuation arm.

Search for me / Chris Gamlin / clutch cable, my computer is playing up at the moment so would take for ages if I did it

Throttle cable is too thin.
Not difficult to modify a standard bike one by fitting a clevis to the pedal end

Have a look here.

If you use the standard bike actuator arm at the motor you'll need 12-13mm of linear cable travel.
