indy blade weird problem

hi gents got a strange problem.building mk indy blade and finally got around to testing it .well on axle stands any way.and whenever i put it into 1st i get a clonk and engine stalls.i know clutch is working because when i press it down whilst in 1st i can turn prop ,with back wheels up in air.and when i release pedal i can no longer turn prop.any ideas gents.

Sounds like a problem with the wiring for the clutch interlock. We had a similar problem when we first tried ours.

Check your wiring.

yep thats what i think maybe my dodgy wiring is to blame.spose could be clutch switch or neutral switch wiring prob.

have you done this with the two wires from the cdi unit

Green/White (Side stand) must be earthed
Light green (Neutral) must be earthed

cheers guys.has to be one of the above.cant wait to start it up and run it up through the gears.hopefully!
also slightly different subject but what temp does grp melt.my side panel around exhaust seems to get very hot.also is it ok for rear silencer to touch sides or should i space it out.

Yup. It'll be the clutch interlock.
10 minutes loom picking should sort it
The clunk is normal BTW!!

Actually I wonder if they'd accept it as an immobiliser for SVA.

Put a switch on the clutch interlock earth wire....

I bet that would confuse quite a few would be thieves

Um.....GRP dosent melt - if it gets to the right temperature it will just burst into flames

Definatly space the silencer away from any bodywork..............

ok cheers guys.back to the grp thing though.have cut hole for manifold in side panel and this seems to get very hot,althogh when going along spose air flow will cool?

It will stand heat fairly well, but you def don't want the pipe touching it.
