
My fuel tank is very close to the engine anyway, but am I best trying to get the regulator near the carbs or near the pump? I figured near the pump
would be best as it would allow any pulsing effects to be smoothed by the rubber hosing by the time it arrived at the bowls?

I thought purpose of the regulator was to smooth out any fuel pump pulses?
I fitted one last night that I bought on this site but it seems to be precalibrated for a particular engine, most likely not mine. Are you going to
fit a pressure gauge so the pressure can be set?

The requlator on my engines are just before the fuel rail 
Is it a regulator with return line ?
If so put it close to the engine as this will circulate the fuel and keep the fuel in the line cool.

I put my filter king filter/regulator on the bulkhead near to the engine, simply because it will be easier to get at for maintenance.
It also seemed sensible to have higher pressure as far along the fuel pipe as possible, but I'm not 100% convinced by that theory!
