Type 9 spigot bearing ID
bilbo - 1/6/08 at 06:27 PM

Can anyone confirm for me the internal diameter of the standard ford spigot bearing for a type-9 gearbox. I've measured the end of the input shaft on the box and it appears to be 15mm, but I don't have any vernier calipers or similar to be absolutly sure it's not a similar imperial size?

Many thanks,
Bill

15mm I/D and 22.8 O/D seems to ring a bell.

Unfortunatly the standard part wont work in this instance. coozer and I are in the process of trying to find bearings to fit the crank of the Rover T16 engine. I just needed to confirm the ID required.

I used a needle roller bearing when I wanted to fit the type 9 input shaft into my Alfa flywheel/crank orifice. Is was about £10 from the local BSL Brammer place.
