Before I take a hacksaw to the middle of the metal bit and insert an 8mm bit of tube does anyone have a better idea for extending the fuel rail middle spacing?

all we did was cut the original rail and used some slightly bigger outside diameter tube and sleeved the joint.We used silver solder and it worked a treat
