Getting a bit more from a 1.6 Pinto
The Baron - 9/6/08 at 07:36 PM

A long story, but I am stuck with my 1.6 pinto for a little while yet before I upgarde to somthing else.

I currently have a lightened flywheel, Weber 32/35 DGV carb, piper cross airfilter.

The poor old cam is really stating to show its age & mileage now. The rest of the head, valve seats etc seem to be in really good condition. Has anyone on here had any experience in fitting a very mild perfomnce cam to a 1.6 e-max pinto.

Cheers,

B

Is the e-max a low compression engine?

Fit a standard 2.0 cam to it, it's supposed to perk them up a bit for not much money.

Difference between a 1.6 and a 1.6 GT (or indeed S) was 2.0 Valves and a 2.0 cam shaft. and a better flowing carb.

Seems you've already done the carb, now just do the head work.
