I found a thread covering this topic but before I finish off welding my bracket could some ppl confirm what distance they have set the VR sensor from the trigger wheel please?

i have my sensor about 1mm from the trigger wheel but when i turn over the car i still dont get an rpm reading on my megatune screen?

sorry to hijack the thread but any suggestions on what might be wrong?

VR sensor has two wires- have you tried swapping the wires?

I believe the unit is looking for a negative going edge - if you have wires back to front, it would be positive going so won't work.

You can test the sensor byt putting a DVM across it and moving a stell object past it -you should see a momentary voltage reading.

Also ensure you are using fully screened cable ..

And make sure that you run the cable away from anything likely to cause interference (coil, plug leads, alternator)
