having removed the old manta engine iam about to takle fitting new red top but which clutc do i fit ?? the one on the manta engine or do i need a red top one

I'd go for clutch to match Engine.

Make sure splines match gearbox though.

one with the same splines as the gearbox, but with the diameter of the redtop engine (235mm i think?)

i found this quite useful, but at 175 pages, a bit of a pain to search (ctrl F ) lists pretty much every clutch quinton hazel make, along with specs, diameter, spline counts etc
