Ok, I know this has been discussed before but I cant find the thread searching for a combination of the above title...
So, can anyone running a zetec on bike carbs tell me what combination of main jets, needle height and air screw setting to get through the emissions
test at SVA?
Should I lean it all off with smaller jets and lower float height or will that upset the HC's
ATM I have ZX9R carbs (40mm) with 160 mains and air screw out 1 turn. At a recent track day I was runnign 135 mains and had no top end power, it
wouldn't rev past 4k in top. Since then I've put the 160's in and set the float heights at 15mm (1mm over standard)
Anyone got any recent experiences to report??
Thanks
Steve
SVA Tuesday 15th July

i wouldnt worry too much, i am running 4 honda blackbird carbs on mine. Last year i took it for SVA, with mixture screws out about quarter of a turn
and sailed through emmissions test no bother.
The carbs were jetted to suit the zetec , by Bogg Bross.
Make sure you use a exhaust with a cat to be on the safe side. As i didn`t the first time, but that depends on the year of your engine
regards Eric.
Thanks, engines a 1.8 1994 zetec with no cat.
Mines running 1.6 mains, 2nd groove on needles with airscrews 3 turns out on ZX6R carbs [37mm].
It runs really well, but haven't had emmissions checked yet, though I'll need to for MOT next year.
