Following my stupid question of running a zetec on a weber 32/36 dgv carb (which it appears is possible) the transplant looks like becoming a reality
over the winter.
Next question(s)
Does some who has done the transition from Pinto to Zetec have a list of parts i can start sourcing, ignition, starter etc etc (i'm sure there
are loads of odd bits)
also a baisc guide on how to start.
Cheers,
B
Blimey, now your asking questions,
I guess it would be a silver top (most common) would I need different bits then?

Do i need this/ is this cheap, opinion's

My advise would be to go get an engine out of an Escort then a lot of what you need over the Mondeo one is there. If you have the chance of ripping
the engine out of the Escort don't forget to back the Edis and as much of the wiring as possible. The VR wires are shielded to prevent noise so
make sure you get enough of that.
I used the starter from a DOHC Sierra that bolted straight on. No mods, no sump chopping.
Megajolt and bike carbs here on a homemade inlet manifold. Cost less than £150.
Keep asking if anythings unclear....

The other consideration (depending on if your body is already fitted) is that the exhaust and inlets are reversed so exhaust exits through new holes
in the body panels.
Just needs considering!
If you go for a Focus Blacktop [Mondeo is probably the same] the sump is very easy to shorten. Other than having to put in an idler pulley to make the
water pump go the right way installation is very much like the silvertop.
