Right guys
I have just aquired a 1700 crossflow that was built about 12 months ago but has never been run.
It has a brand new piper XFBP255 cam + brand new followers in it. The guy has also given me a 3000 mile old ken 234 that was orginally in the engine
(which did 135bhp with this cam), with the followers that were with that cam - but they are not marked as to which order they were taken out.
I would like to use the 234.
My question is, If I change the cams, Is it better for me to use the orginal followers in obviously the wrong order, or the brand new followers!
confused? lol
Thanks
Shaun
Ideally a new Cam should use new followers as they become mated to it, however, each case is unique, are the ones you have concave or convex, and this
will determin if they can be reused.
Also wh do you want to change the cam? 255 would be nice in a tuned 1700.
U2U me if you want more infor
Agree with above. Run it with the new cam and followers, don't get hung up over 5bhp.
I currently run a 270 piper in my 1700 on a standard (rejetted) DD carb. Seems plenty fast enough until the Caterham spec engine gets built.
Sorry can't help on this, but I have found this site to be very useful in answering all sorts of x-flow related questions.
