Zetec - T9 box fixings
chris-p-duck - 7/8/08 at 07:50 PM

Hi all!

I have just trial fitted my zetec motor to my type 9 gearbox and there seem to only be 6 fixings that match. Two at the top and then two on each side moving round the bell housing. Is that right or should there be something on the underside of the box?

Any help is appreciated..........

Cheers!

6 is fine, my blacktop to mt75 only has 5, on the Focus the starter is where one of the middle side bolts would go.
Nothing lines up at the bottom/sump.

How about the metal plate that seperates the box and motor? I have left the std zetec one one - should I have modded it?
It also seems to have a small gap on the intake side exposing the starter teeth on the flywheel - should I worry about this????

I made a one of plate

I would get it covered but others have left it open.

I have just had another attempt - used my original CVH plate and made some small mods (sliced off two of the inside shoulders) and it fits a treat and fills in the gap that was there on the zetec plate.

So for the record the CVH plate is a good starting point!
