Nothing is out of the question, it just depends how much and how long
Paul
And how heavy!
I'd like to think (but don't know) that the engine is basically ally, so s/be reasonably light (though cheaper to buy it with Ford rocker
cover s I suspect.
I guess that Rover V8 (so read Pinto/Crossflow etc as similar weights) at around 200kgs (inc box) is a sensible limit.
There is someone on here building with (IIRC) a cast iron small block Chevy/Ford - which weighs (also IIRC) about 300 kgs (ex box).
So choice really is up to you.
Just need to take the weight (and inertia) into consideration during construction.

The V6 Jag engine uses the Mundane-o block (blah, blah, blah, the decline of Jaguar as an outpost of the Ford parts bin, blah, blah, blah)
I reckon the chances of a type 9 or MT75 bolting up must be quite high as some of the guys on here are bolting up Zetecs.
Cheers,
Neil.
if you are talking xtype v6 or similar, isnt that gonna be massively expensive to get hold of?

yep. know that. not being 'real jag' is why i discounted getting an x type for my next co car.
never driven the ford v6 but the vauhall equi is nice! 170 hp and revvy as heck. was fitted inlast of the cavaliers (around L reg) so there are prob a
few written off ones around
If he's talking old XJ6 then he may be fooled into thinking it's V6 instead of straight 6...
Or maybe not and he does have capability to have the new V6...
..or the XJ220 engine... yeah right...
Have a look at Luego's web site. Someone has put a Jag 4ltr engine in one of their chassis (also shown on the front page of this site). Don't know anything about the engine, but judging from the exhausts I would say it was a straight 6. Apparently 360bhp!
that jag engine is a straight six
the earlier 3.6 was about 225 hp.
if the 4.0 is that amount of power, its been tuned!
