Suzuki GSXR 1000 fuel pump
madrallysport - 15/8/08 at 07:34 AM

Guys my mate is building a rage style buggy,

He bought a Suzuki GSXR 1000 K3 engine on ebay, but didn't get the fuel pump, we think it is inside the fuel tank on this model, so my question is, what pump / regulator set up external to the tank does he need. From reading up on the bike etc, we think its runs at 3psi, again we'd like to make sure about this.

sure the GSXR1000 K3 is fuel injected not carbs 3psi, is ok for carbs but you will require a high pressure fuel pump up to 25psi ish

what tank are you planning to use if purpose made can you not fit an orignal type pump as below,
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SUZUKI-GSXR-1000-04-FUEL-PUMP_W0QQitemZ250279875779QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item250279875779&_trkparms=39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A1%7 C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&timeout=1218789636562
alternative a inline high pressure pump/regulator

He needs almost any injection fuel pump! Just hook off the pump relay and off you go. Line pressure needs to be 3 bar, any regulator will help here, if its placed in the return to the tank from the fuel rail (and hooked up to manifold for depression) then the cake is iced.
If you've got the cash then any (e.g) Sytek motorsport pump and regulator from DT.
If you haven't then hit the scrap yard. My road car (GSXR) uses a pump from a Volvo 940 estate petrol turbo...

Early Hyabusa had an external pump.

any bosch injection pump will be fine.

Good option is older vauxhalls, they have external pump usually found under the boot area

many on ebay, around £60 new or £15 used
