steve m - 5/1/04 at 09:20 PM

I am in the process of rebuilding my carbs
and having removed the butterflys, about a month ago
I can not remember, if the small hole on the butterfly goes at the top or bottom

can anyone help ????????????

regards

steve

Steve, 'the hole' is probably something that a tuner as done to get the progression of the carbs somewhere near, as opposed to being 'standard' i.e. no holes IIRC.
I will endevour to look at a 'spare' I have floating around the garage tomorrow if I remember mate.

Steve, I didnt remember, but I am going again in a few minutes....

OK then, both sets of Webers didnt have holes, so I guess it is as I suspected, but nothing to worry about.
Is there any numbers stamped on the butterflys? When looking at the carbs on the 'engine' side, mine have 78deg stamped on them (refering to the angle through which they travel). This number is readable from the engine side, stamped on the bottom side in relation to the spindle, and is readable in the correct orientation in relation to the carb itself (i.e. the right way up!).

HTH Stu.
