Floor mounted pedal box

Hi all, hope this is the right place for it. Ive got a floor mounted pedal box that i wanted to check with you lot wether what ive done is right or wrong. We have the clutch and brake pedals fitted and attached to the cables/mc's and these come out from the pedal box at roughly a 45 degree angle. Does this sound about right or should we aim for them to be more upright? To me they dont look right but thats just comparing them to a regular car.

With our accelerator pedal we have it connected to the cable but were finding you need to hold it up or it will fall forwards to the floor. If you hold it up it opperates correctly ie the butterfly on the throttle bodies open fully. What are we doing wrong? Could we use a spring to hold it at the correct position?

Cheers for any help
Adam

If the cable come out in an weird angle, I think you should puzzle until it is right and the cables do not bend too much.

I don't know exacly what you mean by holding up the pedal. I do know that I have seen many cars with springs on the accelerator cable, on the carburettor side.

yes, pics would help.

I put small springs on mine to hold the pedal in the correct position ( clutch) the cable on the accelerator is strong enough to hold the pedel in the right place and i adjusted them to match the break as this is governed by the master cylinder (bad photo of this in my archive) will put new clear photo on later. dont forget pedel stops so you cant stretch the cableds.

Ok heres a pic

So how does the angle look - ok or too far forwards? Generally should a clutch pedal be infront of or behind the brake pedal? I dont think i can do anything about the brake pedal unless i cut some of the mc piston rod off both sides that enter the bias bar. With the clutch pedal if i moved the locating hole lower and away from the driver would this decrease the amout of travel in the pedal to operate the clutch?

Called Marc of MNR and said to make a stop, thinking of using a floor mounted bolt to hold a hard rubber stop which sounds like it should work as i can see a spring possibly popping off.

Thanks again
Adam

Bump - are anyones pedals at this level or should they be further back?

well, i'd say they look fine to me. the push rods look a decent angle, and with the pedals that far forward, they have to be pushed further before the hinges at the bottom get in the way of your heels
