Im nearly finished with my mk build just a few small things to do then sva !
i want a ally air box but strugling with space between ram pipe and bonnet ?
i have 10 mm at highest point and 40mm at lowest because the throttle bodys sit at a angle . but i really need 40 50 mm at the higest point to get flow to the throttles? the only way i can get this is by removing the ram pipes ? but they are there for a reason arnt they ?? the next way would to make some small tubes same bore as ram pipes with a 45deg bend then fit ram pipes? what will this do to preformance ?? or have some really short pipes 10 20 mm long ! what do i do

If this is a North/South front installation then the fact that you've got the airbox in (at all) indicates you've got lots of room relative to my GSXR1000 Westfield installation. I had to go with the foam sausage filter, with a power commander sorting out the fuelling (didn't need much adjustment in the end). Power wasn't compromised, according to the rolling road.
Others will say an airbox and ram will be a benefit, both for the engine performance and (especially) the noise, I can certainly vouch for the noise aspect so if you can rig something give it a go. It'll need a rolling road to reduce the 5K fuelling, whatever, so see what your box does then.
