oil system flushing

General question?

What opinions do peple have on using oil system flushing products when changing the oil and filter?

I have always used Wynns oil system flush at every oil change on my 205GTI. It seems to keep the oil cleaner for longer between changes, which must be good.

Any comments or thoughts???

Cheers

Nick

Personaly I'd thought that flushing oils had gone out of fashion.

If I thought my engine needed flushing out I would buy a cheap multigrade and use that. At least that way the engine should get the protection it needed whilst running.

As long as you change your oil regularly there is no real reason why you should use a flush. As long as the engine is in good condition and you use a good oil then it should not get dirty any quicker.

Another point is that whatever you use will always dilute your normal oil somewhat. If you use a synthetic this could cause problems!
