I have one i got with the engine and it has a bit you can twist on the top, i guess this has something to do with it. Im not sure how it adjusts it, but would be interested to find out.

so can you effectively "turn up the boost" by just fueling the carbs more?

No mate, you could however cause the carbs to flood, cause fires (esp. Xflow owners, whose dizzy sits handily under a dripping carb ), and prematurely wear the cylinder bores out, because the excess fuel will wash any lubricating oil away.

Fuel doesnt equal more power, not unless you can get more air in

When I used these on my Karts in the 70'/80's we used to adjust them with the screw (which is under the domed nut) and lock nut .

You may be able to set them with a fuel pressure gauge if you no what pressure you are after.

But the way we did it was to connect the outlet to a piece of plastic pipe that ran vertically up a piece of wood.

You can then set the pressure by the height at which the fuel will stop pumping at i.e 27" of head (sorry) may equal 1 lb fuel pressure.

This should be very accurate.

You'll have to research the actual figures, as I cant remember, they will differ for different liquids ,water ,petrol etc.

I can remember we set the regulator on the kart to 44" !!!!! we used these to stop the carb flooding due to vibration opening the needle valve.

Take me out and shoot me I'm answering posts on Xmas Day!!!!!!!!!!!
