Removing exhaust studs
How do you do it? I have tried screwing two nuts on and unscrewing the front one and mole grips but neither work

Same trick with the two locked nuts, but undo the back one - if you do the front one it'll just unlock the two

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Try giving the stud a couple of sharp clouts with a hammer but make sure you have the second nut level with the end of the stud to prevent damage. OR
buy a decent stud extractor which will lasts years , the type that works like a chuck by Sealey tools is quite good.

The stud extractor i have requires you to drill a hole in the stud and screw it in the wrong direction.
Im not reusing the stud so i might just weld it on

The type of stud extractor you have is used for removing broken studs , best place for them is in the bin . The type you need is for removing the
studs without damage.

Drown in good quality penetrating oil and leave alone....
Then as above, wind some nuts on then give it a good clout squarely with a hammer before trying to undo or weld anything one.
Once you have sheared it off it will be a complete PITA to remove, last resort then being spark errosion...
Take care and time !!!!!

Have you got any way of getting heat into the stud?

Thats where the welding a nut on comes in. Not only gives you something to undo it with but also gives it a massive heat shock, better than taking a
blow torch to it...

I strongly recommend Mark's suggestion above - give it a good soak in a decent penetrating oil (e.g. PlusGas), leave it for an hour or two then
spray it again. Leave it for a long while to ensure deep penetration (oooer!).
Even if you end up welding on a nut, you should hopefully avoid snapping the stud when to eventually try unscrewing it. Down-side is that it will
stink when you weld it!
