I presume it's a new inlet manifold you want?

What carbs do you intend to put on the engine?

Burton do one for 3x weber DCNF carbs, yours for just £585 *including VAT*

or ebay

Paul!

leave the bike carbs on the bike engine, sling the v6, and use the bike lump instead!!!

u know it makes sense, half the weight and nearly the same power...

The V6 isn't really an engine you can tune without spending mega mega bucks.
Honest advice is put something else in -- anything else.

as a big fan of the Ford Cologne V6, I can definitely say, don't use it in a locost, it is FAR too heavy!!! It's great in a Granada or Sierra 4x4 (my everyday car) but not good for a locost!!!

Damn rite! I agree. Been tryin to tell him tht for ages but he wont listen. For 700 quid im gettin an r1 engine wit the same power tht weighs 60kg instead of 160kg. Plus 6 speed sequential constant mesh box!!

I think most people agree that in terms of power per pound ( both kinds of pound ) big bike engines are in a different league no car engine outside of F1 comes close but not everybody wants something that extreme. A light weight modern 4 valve car engine of 1400 to 1800 cc in very mild tune giving anywhere from 110 to 150bhp is wild enough for a lot of fun without spoiling the handling. The Ford V6 was a rough overweight dog in both its incarnations --- the only thing worse was the Essex V4.

there is no such thing as a pinto twin cam!

there is the dohc 8v 2 litre that came after it.......

I have seen several people state that a bike car wasnt really what they wanted once they drove it.... something about being thrashy. A V6 wont be thrashy!

didnt PTM sell the 'dream after he BEC'd it with similar comments?

If you go BEC...

Just be sure you want fast and furious rather than torque and cruisy.

Maybe he means a Zetec?
I'd ditch the V6 and go for a Rover V8, a proper engine and all the torque in the world.

Though I said I wouldn't put it in a locost, I wouldn't call the Cologne V6 a "rough overweight dog", that's usually the comment of someone who hasn't run one for a good while. I am on my 4th road car with either a 2.8 or 2.9 v6 in, and whilst they are not economical, they are great engines, reliability-wise they are virtually unbeatable. My old sierra XR4x4 did 230,000 hard miles (many towing a car trailer) on it's original engine and 'box, and was still smoke-free and healthy when I sold it. My current one has done 150,000 and I took the rocker covers off yesterday to put new gaskets on to stop the usual weep and was shocked to find no tar deposits, no staining, just nice clean engine! Still going like a new-un! Easy to criticise the old boat-anchor but it is great at what it does! It just doesn't profess to be a sportscar engine!
