Thermoswitch
Hi Guys,
My thermoswitch is built into my rad and has two spade connectors.
Well i'm assuming it's a thermoswitch and not just a thermostat....
Anyway, should the thermo be grounded on one spade and the other spade is a switched ground which will ultimately find it's way to the rad fan
via a relay?
Thanks,
Andy

Shamelessly nick'd from a previous thread by steveC - but with a Switch override if required as well.

thanks very much.
is there a standard temperature that a thermoswitch will switch at?
how can you test one to check it's working?

Quick test to see if the fan works is to join the 2 wires at the switch , the fan should operate. To test the switch take it out and clean the side
which should reveal the operating temperatures , a higher one that the switch turns on and a lower one for turning off. Place in a saucepan with a
thermometer and a multimeter or battery and test light on the terminals and heat the water until the test light or multimeter shows 0 ohms.
Thermoswitches are available in a load of different operating temperatures so if you not happy with the operation you can get them from any decent
motor factors

nice one, thought it might be the old pan of hot water trick.
Annoyingly that means i'll have to drain the whole bloody rad to test it!
