any tips on removing driveshaft hubs from gearbox?

im trying to fit a limited slip diff to my Fiesta, but i cant budge the drive shaft hubs out of the Diff, i had to split the CV joints to get the gearbox out. they seem stuck fast of the ring in the hub, ive rried leavering, rotating it, tapping it but no joy.
is there any other tricks???

if they are like the Modeo type they have a clip on them which locks into place when the shaft is pushed in, try more pressur or prising and tapping with a hamme. Whe had to replace the rings they appear to be a one time use only as they deform when removed

They can be a right bstrd to split.
Bute force and a crow bar usually works.

they were a total PITA on my focus (IB5 box - so probably the same as yours)

bute force by means of 2 tyre levers, one from each side (me on on, my dad on thye other)
and even then we had to persuade it with coper hammer

Fork type ball joint splitter with a long handle --- gentle couple of taps to get the tip in then they will lever out OK

Silverline long handle Ball Joint Spliitter

Better still is the correct tool, can't remember where I got mine from but I had it years . Looks similar to a ball joint splitter but wider with a thinner taper

a slide hammer should do the trick if you've got an suitable end on it grip the shaft
(mine were so bad I actually started to make one of these... )
