Best place for water/ rad fan sensor ?

I have a polo rad to go in my 7 over the winter, and it has a hole for a water /rad fan sensor

I currently use one on the filler cap by the themostat on my x flow

is there any benifit to it being on the rad ?
or shall i keep to my existing setup (that works)

If it isn't broke, or causing problems, I'd leave well alone, unless, it would lead to a tidier installation.

Radiator, The main job of the fan is to control the radiator output temperature.

I'm not much help on whether it works, because I haven't got it plumbed yet, but I got my temp switch off ebay for 99p brand new. I did get given a link to (i think it was intermotor) a site that had different switches on there for loads of different vehicles and temperatures. The fitting in the rad is m22x1.5 and then you just need to select an on and off temp.

I hope that helps, my limited knowledge may be of use!

ATB, Chris
