oil coolers

I have an oil cooler in the shed that I intend on fitting to the Locost when I stick the SR20DET in it to aid cooling. Apparently keeping them cool is a big Problem. Agents is where the heck to put it! I don't want anything else in the front with a rad and fmic.

any ideas? It can also be a relocation kit for the filter too which may be useful.

Just get an intercooler and a double core rad. Mine is a CA18DET, similar to the SR20, with no cooling issues. I have vents in 4 places on my bonnet! Mount the intercooler in front of the rad. I wouldn't bother with an oil cooler to begin with. See what temps you will run and put it on later if necessary. A lot of bother otherwise.

You can fit the cooler behind the rad.
On the side panel with a scoop.
Anywhere that air flow can be ducted or if space is very tight then a water oil cooler in a rad hose

someone on the sxoc had a Westfield with an SR and had issues, maybe it was a poorly engine or poorly mapped making it run hot. What are the side pod things all about? Do they just let more air in the front and out through the sides to aid cooling?

I put flaired sides on mine to try let the air out yeah, and also a vent in the scuttle. If the air cant get out you'll not get much flow through the rad. That said,I've had mine stationary, revving at 6k for over10 minutes on a hot day trying to cook the cat enough to get it through sva emissions. And it didn't overheat then!
