No. For starters blacktops come with engine numbers beginning NGA, NGB, NGC from mondeo then move on to EBBC or EDBA and EDDA numbers from cougar and
focus. Looks like he has read the second letter wrong (NCB), it will be NGB and he hasn't done much better with the rest. Normaly two more
letters for year (WM) July 98 which is possible, and then five numbers (b702h), possibly 67026. So ten in all and he has at least three of then wrong.

DVLA Check
After taking the advice to contact DVLA to see if the engine is stolen, this is what they said :-
Dear Sir
Thank you for your email received on 29/11/11.
DVLA does not have the facility to enter an engine number and generate the vehicle to which it belongs. In addition, DVLA would be unable to confirm
a stolen engine if you did provide the details of the vehicle.
I can only suggest you contact the police for advice on stolen engines.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Next call local police, sure to be an interesting call.............
So when I go for registration at local DVLA they will not know if its nicked or not ?
Hardly clamping down on theft is it.
