Lh side has the filler on, allen key bolt to remove, fill till it reaches the level of the filler hole.

Turn the car upside down and fill it through the drain hole
.......or yuo could use the hole provided, the litre oil bottle will be supplied with 8" of clear pile, stick that in the hole and squeeze the
bottle until it trickles out of the filler hole, then replace the plug.
If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

Do what I did, locate the possition of the filler plug on your side panel and then drill a 2" hole so you can get to it, then just make a neat
plate and PK screw it over. That way you can check the level every now and again. HTH Ray

2nd Rays idea that's what I did not sure of the hole size used a rubber grommet to cover hole removal of the allen plug can be made via hole. I
would recommend this idea be done at the building stage as it is a bit easier to calculate where the hole needs to be

Is the box is empty now? If so no reason you couldn't fill it through the top cover based on knowing exactly how much to put in.
For the future though top up will be a pain and the problem is to know you haven't over filled it (dont think you can see the filler plug with
the top cover removed).
Not much space on mine so I use a long section of 10mm (IIRC) OD clear hose with a small funnel jammed in the fend. Suspend this in the engine bay and
pour in small amounts until it runs out of the filler hole on the box - good way to waste oil though!

i use a big funnel with some clear plastic tubing taped on the end, hold the funnel up out the bonnet, put the tube in the hole and pour slowly til it
starts coming back out.
i can only access the gearox from underneath my car so its the only way...

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

I'm with Chippy although like Austin man I used a large grommet to cover the hole

Hi beaver34 - can't really see a reason why not then e.g. remove filler plug, remove top cover and fill with oil until it starts to come out of
the filler plug hole, refit cover and filler plug. Basically the same as filling via filler plug (assumes we're talking with car level etc.).
Assuming you can easily take your tunnel cover off you could repeat to check the level in the future.
Cautionary warnings would be making sure no dirt gets in when top cover is off, might need a new top cover gasket... can't think of anything
else right now but there might be!

I originally filled mine by attaching a longer pipe to the plastic bottle of gear oil, remove the bung and put the pipe into the box before inverting
the bottle. Much easier to check after removing the grommet though
