I guess most of the crate engines have been sold off, so the price is bound to increase..

*Brand New* Ford Zetec-R Engine 2.0L Black Top
These are Brand New, 2002 Produced Ford Zetec-R Engines.
The engines were manufactured for the Ford Focus 2002-2004 Limited Edition Sport, But Ford Changed Their Plans & Up-Rated to the
"Duratec" Engine Instead.
This version, the Zetec-R, had a two-piece crankcase which helped damp out noise and vibration, conventional tappets with shims rather than hydraulic
ones, and longer connecting rods with a lower piston compression height.
135 BHP @ 6000 rpm, 180 Nm @ 4000 rpm
Compression Ratio 9.6/1
Phase 3 Engine (1998>2004)
Two Piece Sump With Alloy Upper, and Pressed Tin Lower.
What a load of total nonsense. All Zetec Blacktop 2 litres had these features from 1998 in the Mondeo and Focus to about 2004 in the Focus, nothing
special about them at all. Add to that the "Zetec R" reference is what Raceline have been using since 1993.
Nothing wrong with the engines mind, got one in mine but I bought it from a place you can rely upon.

I think the comparison they are making is the fact they are the later zetec engies, ie blacktop not silver top, which do have all the things they
state when compared to earlier zetec silvertops.

loggyboy, totally agree that all Blacktops have everything things they state when compared to earlier zetec silvertops but that is not what they are
saying, they are representing them as special engines made for a special run. The bit about "The engines were manufactured for the Ford Focus
2002-2004 Limited Edition Sport, But Ford Changed Their Plans & Up-Rated to the "Duratec" Engine Instead" is total nonsense.
There was no such thing as a 2002 - 2004 Limited Edition Sport that had a Duratec fitted. The ST170 had a Zetec badged as a Duratec to confuse matters
but the ST170 engine at VVt and 170 bhp. The Focus did not get a Duratec until 2005 when the Mk 2 was introduced.
Think GBS and Kitbitsdirect are the same company, if they are as good at selling engines and sorting problems as they were when I bought an alternator
from them people may struggle.
