215mm clutch - zetec/type9

Hi All,
I'm replacing my defunct clutch (basket failed?? no pressure...) the one in there is a Borg and Beck (kit code HK8050)

It has lasted 10,000 miles (including 3 track days) current engine power is 177

I can't afford an AP racing item so have put an order in for a direct replacement from an online shop who have told me that it's actually out of stock with their supplier.

Anyway, long story short, they've offered me a Quinton Hazell direct replacement, which they say should be more expensive (but they won't charge me more)

I know that QH make a LOT of car parts, does anyone have experience of their clutches, or have an opinion on QH vs Borg & Beck? I could cancel the order and get the Borg and Beck on ebay.

Cheers
Andy

sorry not had a QH one, its always valeo ones I seem to get they are ok for bog std. tin-tops but I wouldn't use one for anything else...

For my pinto (also 215mm) I was recommended by a well known engine builder to use a standard LUK clutch
I'm told thats what allot of the stock car boys use

I have a QH clutch in my V6/MT75 set up, not the same I know, but I have done over 9k miles to date and is still in very good nick, and that has included some, (many), trafic light grand prix, :-) HTH Ray

To make a car go faster, just add lightness. Colin Chapman - OR - fit a bigger engine. Chippy
