4age advice, just dreaming!
Hi all,
I need to push the current set up to the limits before I go for more power but I am just checking \ thinking ahead as my brain wont stop asking
questions and just let the subject sleep!! I have asked the below on both club 4ag and driftworks but there seems to be very little activity on
this.
So, I have a Blacktop 20V which I would like to keep and I would like to super charge it with an Eaton M45. Rotrex are too much money and boost for
what I need. I will remount the alturnator and manufacture all parts required, I like the challange. Its the engine build I need to check and expected
power with reliability.
I am hoping that just a set of 4agze pistons and rods will lower the comp and add the strength. Probably 4agze injectors to get the fuel up. I am
hoping thats it for the engine.
Does anybody know what power the blacktop can take with the above set up? I would like around 220. No idea of boost levels 8psi?
I dont really want to contact RAW as Im not going to buy anything at the mo so dont want to waste their time with empty questions.
I am just fishing for info. I have googled the subject to death, im sure!!
Thanks in advance.
Oh finally, anybody know the external dimensions of the Eaton M45?

Why not just buy a AGZE and modify that? Using agze pistons won't work as it doesn't have the valve cutouts for the 5 valves/piston. So
you will need custom pistons if you want to lower CR. Or need some thick head gasket/spacer.

why not just buy a the brackets off raw and try to find a second hand rotrex. At least that all fits under the striker bonnet. Saw a striker at a
track day that had a blacktop/silvertop engine mash up running a rotrex some forged bits and that was a safe 260bhp with room for lots more.

I wanted to stay away from the AGZE because I wanted something different but supercharging a AGZE is a good point.
I have heard that cutouts are needed for the 20V on some sites but not required on others. I cant just use a thicker head gasket because the pistons
and rods are too weak, means I would still have to change them for AGZE anyway.
Ill have a read of your links.
Whats your experience on boost and expected power?

Its a lot of monies!!
A second hand Rotrex + rebuild would be the cost I expect the whole rebuild to cost. I may still use a RAW bracket because the alturnator needs
remounting and a belt is still required.
260 is more than my target. That means HD gear box and HD diff, plus much more. I wanted to stay with the running gear for now.
