Zetec trigger wheel for megajolt

Hi all,

Looking for some advice, as I'm a little confused with conflicting instructions from megajolt??

I'm using a CVH flywheel on my Zetec 2.0ltr black top, as its some 5kilos lighter than the standard Zetec flywheel (hence the need for the trigger wheel). So to overcome the lack of 36-1 teeth on the flywheel I have to mount a trigger wheel to the front pulley, I have the Vr sensor mounted at 3'0 clock position to the pulley on the right of the block, so my question is if piston 1 is at TDC where should the the trigger wheel cut out be, I presume at 3'0 clock, or I'm wrong???

Thanks in advance

I have exactly the same set up but I'm buggered if I can remember the exact position for the missing tooth! I do remember that I followed the Megajolt/squirt instruction on the website and it worked fine.

I used a dial gauge to get an accurate tdc.

I just welded a 1.8 cvh trigger wheel to the standard blacktop crank pulley, and it has all worked fine for the past 5 years or so.

The missing tooth should be at 12 o clock with the sensor mounted at 3 0 clock as there is a 90 deg difference on an Edis 4.
The exact timing to a couple of degrees is not that important as you will adjust that when mapping it.

Thanks guys for that,

Think I'm 90' degrees out then. I did find TDC, (drilled out an old spark plug and used a ground bar + DTI, worked a treat), I followed the instruction manual and website, but probably got lost inside my grey matter somewhere....lol

How accurate degree wise do I need to be to TDC with the missing tooth. Again I've found differing answers????

Also does anyone have a good map for megajolt with tps for 2.0ltr blacktop on bike carbs?

Thanks in advance

Not very as people normally make the bracket that holds the sensor so that it can be adjusted a bit to take up any error.

Mine works fine - send me your email address and I'll email a copy.
