radiator fun....

Hi guys...

bought a polo rad the other day for £13.. off 'ebay' ... picked it up from a local guy so no postage

However when I opened it the rad had a coolant bottle on the side making it too big!!!

After concidering kicking it round the room I saw the light!!

Off to the scrappy... picked up a busted Golf rad with fans and sensor (bonus has fast and slow mode 3 wire switch)..

Took the sides off the Polo and Golf rads and using pipe grips tidy up the Polo edges ready to take to the rad shop to press the Golf sides into the Polo core voila.. one chopped baby Golf Rad!!!

I could try and do it my self but the rad shop has a special press and do it properly in 2 mins and only cost a drink!! so why risk it?

Also.. hoses on the correct side .. looking out now for a cheap polo 'core' to store away for when this needs replaceing - just take the sides off !!!

The pic shows the Polo rad with Golf edges ready for pressing in, the old Golf rad is going in the bin, just need to cut off the extra fan and mod it.........

see pic : in archive..

for ref: (380 long x 325 high x 33 thick core, add two golf sides) overall length with fitted sides 475mm to cut to the chase: get complete Golf rad from scrapyard - and get it re-cored with a Polo core..
