Anybody know what size standard 2L pistons are, thanks.

According to Burtons catalogue they are 85.00mm Using 86.00mm takes the engine out to 2045cc and 86.50mm to 2070cc

According to a couple of Haynes it will depend on Silvertop or Blacktop.
For example
Ford Mondeo manual 93 to 99 Zetec engine 2 litre has 84.8mm bore and 88 mm stroke.
Ford Mondeo manual 00 to 03 2 litre bore is 87.5 mm stoke is 83.1mm

93 - 99 is the zetec - silvertop or blacktop
00 on is the Duratec - totally different engine

Yep! Sorry just re read into the chapter and says it's the Mazda engine Duratec. Duh!

I think you have to regard the silvertop and blacktop as almost completely different engines. Very few interchangeable parts. From memory the pistons
look very different. I haven't got my mondeo manual handy but I'm pretty sure the silvertop and blacktop pistons are not interchangeable.
