No Spark (Vauxhall 18E)

Helllllpppp. For some un known reason my Vauxhall 18E (carlton) engine will not stark. It turns over, but only sparks when you turn the ingition on or off. I have replaced the crank trigger sensor & the EZ61 (ingition) box. However the problem persists.

The haynes electric diagram shows there is actually very little to this and I have bin through everyhting on the ignition side.

Anyone got any ideas.

Thanks

Simon

Check you have a live feed to the ignition when the engine is turning over. Might be the ignition switch/wiring fault-and the power is being lost as the engine is turning over on the starter...

conrod,

Under the cab it's just a rotor arm attached directly to the end of the cam shaft.

Stu,

It's a bit late to go into the garage now, but I will check tomorrow. Possibly the battery not having any power left over during cranking (old battery, do intend to replace it)

Just an update, Replacing the battery (with new) had no effect, still the same problem. Retraced ALL the wiring for the fourth time showed everything was wired to the hains diagram (maybe the diagram is wrong, but 1.8E, Carltons are really had to come by to check).

Have made up my mind to finally ditch all the electrics and stuff. No more injection system, no more ECU's!!!! I'm putting in a pair of 45's & the MegaJolt dizzy-less ignition system
