1300 xflow Help
A few things i need to know before final engine assemble can commence.
What are the best plugs to use in a 1300gt xflow?
Are the head gaskets for 1300 and 1600 xflow engines different? if they are how do you tell them apart?
My 1300gt engine has pistons without valve cutouts and dishes. The head has the combustion chamber cutouts in it. (and a 711m block if that makes a
difference)
In the purple xflow tuning book it recomends using a flat x flow head.
Would fitting one of these give a catastrophic bang because of compression ratios skyrocketing?
or can it be fitted?
cheers in advance.

According to Mr Haynes then Champion RN7YC are the plugs to use on a standard engine.
As far as I'm aware all the Xflow head gaskets are the same, as the bore is the same.
That's a mix and match engine I believe, with bits from a 681f engine with a 711m block. Trouble is there are so many hybrids both amateur and
Ford. Ford would mix and match using up components when changing over production.
Not so much a big bang more of a soft squish as first turnover would bend valves before engine locked.
Flat head, flat pistons, no real gap except head gasket thickness.
The chambered head versions weren't bad performers.
