130 zetec cam upgrade problems

Hi im new here and after reading a few posts it seems many of you are very clued up on all of the common zetec upgrades.
Well ive got a mk1 fiesta with a 1.8 zetec conversion.
i have got hold of a set of 2ltr cams (after having trouble finding out which ones they are as they didnt match any) it seems the cams are from a 2ltr silvertop auto.
the ecu i am running is a ''ball'' which i believe is from the 105 ps car?
now the cams that were in it i was told are 115 cams. But when i look at the diagrams it seems the 115 cams and 105 cams are the same? so im guessing im running more like 105 ps?

Anyway i now have the 2ltr silvertop cams the rs1800 throttle body and a ''CULT'' ecu from a rs1800.
i fitted the throttle body with the standard cams and ''ball'' ecu and it made a big improvement and had no problems.
I then fitted the 2ltr cams and the car runs really bad almost as if its missing.
do i have to also fit the ecu for these to work?
the problem now is the ecu that is in it i think is external pats? (it has the key and transponder plugged into the ecu via a wire)
and the ''CULT'' one is internal i think?
Does anyone know how i would get this to all work? its wrecking my brain

I would suggest perhaps the valves aren't seating with the 2litre cam.

When fitting a new cam or a cam from a different engine you should always fit the lifters that came with the used cam in the orininal locations or fit new lifters, to do otherwise will risk wrecking the cams.

Since we are presumably talking Silvertop here (since you have fitted Silvertop cams) you have hydraulic lifters thus there is no way the you will have non seating valves. If you have fitted Silvertop cams to a Blacktop you have a major issue as they are not compatible.

Have you timed the cams in correctly?

You need the 130 PS map for the cams to work correctly, others will know how to do that, I have always used aftermarket ECU's and then its simple.

Ok thats good to hear i understand but i have never changed the lifters when changing the cams before and never had a problem plus it wouldnt be this drastic. im aware the silver top and black tops are not compatible with the black top being solid lifters.
the timing is perfect i have checked it several times.
when i match the cams upto the silvertop cam listings with pictures they dont match up but after research i have found a few people with the same set as mine that have come from a silvertop. it seems that they are from the auto version of the car that they came from.

With used hydraulic lifters it is best squeeze them down to expel any oil before fitting them also to it goes without saying to use 5w/30 oil in a Silver top to avoid cam followers jacking up when cold.

The cam for the automatic version is probably slightly softer than the manual version to suit the shifting characteristics of the slushbox.

Another possibility is you bent a valve or more when fitting the cams.

For it to run as it should than the map should match the spec but I do know of more than one person thats run a 115ps spec 1.8 ecu on a 136ps 2.0 engine.

The engine ran fine but was just lacking.

Your problem sounds like an air leak to me. Check you havnt disturbed somthing when doing the cams.

As you say your ecu has Pats and the RS ecu doesnt. Both have internal edis. Both are 60 pin eec-iv ecus so its just a case of rewiring the plug to match the pinout but you need to get it to run better to start with.
