Accusump question...
I have installed an Accusmump onto my ZX12 engine - it is installed directly into the main oil gallery, at the opposite end of the engine from the oil
warning light sensor and my mechanical oil pressure gauge. I am happy that the Accusump is ok, as I am seeing the pressure in the Accusump rise and
fall as I rev the engine, and it holds the pressure just fine when I close the valve at shutdown...
The issue I have is, I don't get a rise on my mechanical oil pressure gauge when I open the Accusump for pre-oiling. What I do get is an
immediate extinguishing of the oil pressure warning light (engine off, but pressurised Accusump opened)... I have checked the levels, and when open,
after starting, the oil level is about 2/3 the way up the sight glass.
Should I actually see a rise on the mechanical gauge, or should I just be happy that the oil warning light is going out, therefore showing I am at
least getting some oil flowing into the engine?

Oil pressure as you know on the 12 on idle is very poor anyway,
My concern is how much oil you have put inthe engine,
Did you run the engine then fill up the accusump, shut the valve and then fill up the engine to the correct level?
Just making sure you have over filled the engine enough to fill the accusump and engine be at correct level on full rpm?
On the 12 I did you did see a small rise in pressure and on my back bird a lot mo than the 12.
Double check asa I run my pil levels 10% over the limit so checked the sight glass at high rpm to make sure levels where correct on sight glass,
anything over I spat into a catch tank and new I was at the correct level.
Good luck

Mines plugged into the main oil gantry as well with 1/2" internal hose, if I open the valve I do not see a jump in pressure either and the oil
pressure seems generally sluggish rising and falling when open which I would expect, it gets nice and hot so I know it's doing its job.
Since installed the car has had a good hammering and the engine sounds as good as the day it was installed.

Hi Sean
I did the following:
- Drain oil/changed filter (prefilled filter)
- Topped up oil to the top of the sight glass with the accusump valve closed
- Turned over the engine (no fuel) about 6 times to circulate the oil
- Topped back up to the top of the sight glass
- Ran engine for a few mintues and also 'burped' the oil filter
- Opened valve on accusump and started the engine
- Closed valve whilst pressure was about 30psi
- Topped the oil level back up so that it was nearly at the top of the sight glass
Does this sound right? The level now seems to be over the sight glass when I have been for a run, and closed the accusump whilst holding up the revs
(I shut down at about 30psi)...
I will check the level when warm and at higher revs next time I go out - that way the accusump should be full, and oil will be all around the
engine.
I am using as wider bore hose as I could, although the fitting that goes into the oil gallery is certainly less than 1/2" i/d...
Mark - thanks for that, mine sounds similarly sluggish. I might yet take you up on your offer of modifying my wishbones, so if so, you can do a sanity
check of my install at the same time!
Thanks chaps.

Sounds about wright,
Just keep an eye on things before pushing the limits of the rpm just making sure oil levels are correct,
I assume you are using a manual valve then?
More reliable than the electric ones,

More reliable than the electric ones,
I have the remote valve option - a manual valve operated by a push/pull cable.
