Silencer- distance from body.
1. Has anybody found a problem with too much heat coming through the side panels from the exhaust silencer?
2. How far from the body have people mounted the silencer?
Thanks in advance,
James

James,
Mine is about 1 3/8" from the body, and no, never had a problem with heat.

So, on the basis of you two then, heat into cabin is inversely proportional to silencer distance!
The closer I put it to the car the cooler it gets!

Tee-hee
Unlike conrod, I have never tried it without the heatshield!
Seriously tho, the gap between the silencer and bodywork is enough for it not to affect the ally or cause undue heat to it. The airflow seems
sufficient.
