zetec ajustable pullys or not?
there are two rules of thumb im hearing on zetec cam pullys and cam timing
thay are keyless so some say retime and lock others say fit ajustable pulleys
wounderd if any one has actualy done a cam retime on std pullys or is it too hard to keep it all in postion when tightening it all up?

The point of vernier pulleys is that you can easily make repeatable changes to the timing after they are installed, e.g. when performing set up on a
dyno.
If you simply want to install a set of cams with fixed timings and you weren't going to optimise things on a dyno then vernier pulleys would be
a bit of a waste.

What cams are you fitting? I fitted Newman 260 cams which are set to standard timings, although I had spent £100 on vernier pulleys total waste of
money. Would imagine can be easier to set timing on wilder cams or if going to extent of spending time on RR to optimise.

All cams have a set of manufacturer recommended timings, but on a modified engine they are only ever a starting point and it's unusual to not be
able to improve things by swinging the timing on a dyno.
