Intake manifold - aluminium mandrel bends
I have been looking for the above without success. I need to make an inlet manifold using an existing aluminium flange and an aluminium plenum.
Runners need to be 40 mm ID +/- 1 mm. So 45 mm ( 1.75 in ) tube with wall thickness 2.5 - 3.0 mm seems what I need. Bend is 90 - 120 ( 60 internal
angle ) with CLR about 150 mm. Cannot find any thing under 2 in on ebay and most stuff is thin walled ( 1.5 mm ) inlet ducting - probably not strong
enough. Any ideas - what industry might use stuff like this?
I can think off alternatives in steel which will be my fall back but needs mating steel flanges for welding. Answers on a post card as they say.
TIA.

I used thick wall Ali scaffold tube for mine, just a bit of scrap but once spun in a lathe looks lovely.
