I have been offered a good 1.9 GTi Peugeot engine for almost nowt but i'm duboiuse about putting it in an Indy as it's a transverse jobby. Has anyone done a similar conversion, if so whats involved?

The M16 engine (1.9 16v as fitted to the Cit BX GTi and Pug 405 M16) is a popular conversion for the Pug 205 GTi using the standard GTi 'box, so I'd assume the bellhousing bolt pattern is the same.
Its been said that the M16 bolts up to a Rover SD1 gearbox using a bellhousing from a LDV Pilot van.
Dunno whether any of this is right, but sounds quite feasible.

"Fatboy Dave" is knowledable in this area (I think it was him that mentioned it) but I've not seen him post for a while...
