T9 shorter shift housing?

Heard a rumor today of a shorter T9 tailshaft.
No clue what model vehicle would have had it.

Need to move the lever mounting point forward for my Marcos 1600 build.
I've been told they can be cut and shortened, alternate factory parts would be better.

Anyone know what I need to be looking for?

Have one for sale or know a source?

At these fuel prices I want it leaded, five-star, and my windscreen cleaned!

Ford never made a shorter tailshaft but some people have modified their own when using the type 9 in a Triumph Spitfire etc.

A Google search might do the trick.

Occasionally crop up on E-bay. Hers one, very expensive though.
