Zetec temp sender

Hi guys,

I've got a zetec blacktop running on standard ECU.
I also have an acewell dash.

My acewell has a temp sender with it which has two wires, pos and neg.
From what I can tell on the zetec, there is only one wire for the temp sender which appears to be an earth.
Can I just wire this up to the acewell and find another ign live to connect to the other wire?

Regards
Andy

I know nothing about an Acewell dash but I do know that with every temp gauge I have used in the past 40 years or so you need a matching sender, if you don't it will either read wrong or not work at all. The temp sender in the head (later Blacktop) is designed to talk to the Ford ECU. There are 2 senders in the early cars (Blacktop and Silvertop) in the stat housing, the one at the top (large thread) is the ECU sender, the one at the bottom (small thread) is for the gauge.

I suspect you will need an Acewell compatible sender, surely they supply them.

Ahhh ok,
I do already have the sender for the acewell, didn't realise they need to match the gauge.
So basically just take the existing one out of the stat housing and put my acewell one in!

Thanks very much!
